If you have not already done so, we suggest that you read them before making any arrangements with our company because they are a very important part of the contract we will make for your holiday. If, once read, you still have any questions, send us an email to info@walkingnorthspain.com from where we will try to provide you with all the additional information you need.

All holidays advertised on this website, in our brochures or in any other media we use are operated by our company:

The trips we offer are sold subject to the following conditions:

  1. Insurance
It is an indispensable condition that all those people who want to take part in any of our trips have the corresponding insurance in force that covers them in case of any mishap that may occur in the activities they are going to carry out in our trips. We recommend that your insurance should at least cover the costs of cancellation on your part, assistance (including repatriation) in the event of accident or illness, and civil liability for injury and damage. We may ask you for details of your insurance prior to the start of your trip.
  2. Booking process
Making a reservation at Walking North Spain is very easy, fast and straightforward. They are only 3 steps:
    • Step 1 - Confirm availability:
Whichever trip you are interested in, the first thing to do is to confirm the possible dates that are available (this step does not imply any commitment on your part). To do this, it is best to fill in and send us the availability enquiry form, but you can also send an email to info@walkingnorthspain.com. In either case, we will contact you as soon as we receive your request.
    • Step 2 - Fill in and send the reservation form:
Once we have confirmed to you the availability of your trip, you should fill in and send us the reservation request form. At this point (*), we will require a deposit of 90 € for each person coming on the trip.
    • Step 3 - Booking confirmation:

As soon as we receive the deposit, we will send you the booking confirmation document with all the details of your trip. The rest of the payment must be made 7 weeks before the start of the trip (*), for which we will send you the corresponding invoice. Once payment is complete, we will send you all the information you need to make the most of your trip.

  3. (*) If the reservation request is made less than 7 weeks before the start of the trip, then the full amount should be paid at the time of booking.

  4. Process and means of payment

Payment for your trip is made in two steps:

    • Payment of a deposit of 90 € per person at the time of booking the trip and
    • Payment of the outstanding balance, 7 weeks before the start of the trip

There are three ways to make your payments:

    • By direct transfer to our bank account (whose details we will provide you with if you choose this option)
    • By credit or debit card and
    • Through Pay Pal, in which case we will have to apply a surcharge of 4% due to their commission system.

In order to make each payment, the customer will receive the corresponding invoice. Similarly, once we receive the amount in our account, we will send the customer the receipt that justifies each of the payments made.

  5. Your responsibility to your group

By making a reservation, you warrant that you have the authority to accept, on your behalf and on behalf of your group, the terms of these booking conditions. This means that you are responsible for receiving all of our information, making all payments, notifying us if changes or cancellations are required and keeping your party informed.

When you book a trip or holiday with us, you accept responsibility for the proper conduct of all members of your party during your stay.

We and our suppliers reserve the right to terminate your participation in any activity if, in our reasonable opinion, or in the opinion of our supplier, your behaviour is considered a danger to yourself or others in your party or is annoying, threatening or abusive to other guests, to any member of our staff or of our supplier. In any of these circumstances you may be removed from the activity or evicted from the accommodation and no refund will be paid (including, but not limited to, alternative accommodation), and a claim may be made against you for any costs and expenses incurred as a result of your misbehaviour. In serious cases, criminal proceedings may even be initiated. As group leader, these considerations include the behaviour of anyone else in your party.

  6. Your responsibility in the activity

Although our activities are well organized, you and your group members have a significant share of responsibility during the development of the different activities.

During the guided tours, you must attend and obey, at all times, the instructions given by our guide or persons responsible for the activity.

In self-guided tours, you must, at all times, follow the information we provide in our route cards or through any other means of communication.

In both cases, the fact of not following the right path and undertaking the adventure on your own will exempt Walking North Spain from any liability that may arise as a result of you and your group incurring loss, time wasted or accident, with any final result that may result from these situations.

  7. Modifications and cancellations on your part

    Modifications:

If, at any time, you need to change your trip, you agree to notify us in writing as soon as possible and, if possible, at least 4 weeks before the start of your trip, by sending us an e-mail to info@walkingnorthspain.com. As a general rule, Walking North Spain will try to incorporate your modifications, although it is possible that, on occasions, these changes may not be possible for reasons beyond our control, especially if the request for modification reaches us after this time period.

If, during your trip, you have to return home early or are unable to participate in any activity, we will not be able to reimburse you for the cost of unused services.

If it is a guided tour and your participation is essential to form the minimum necessary group, no changes can be made.

    Cancellations:

In the event of cancelling a trip, the person who made the reservation must notify us immediately by sending an email to info@walkingnorthspain.com. Depending on how far in advance we receive the notice of cancellation, the following charges will be applied:

Receipt of notice of cancellation Cancellation charge
50 days or more before the start of the journey Loss of reserve deposit
Between 43 and 49 days before the start of the trip 25% of the total cost of the trip
Between 29 and 42 days before the start of the trip 50% of the total price of the trip
Between 22 and 28 days before the start of the trip 75% of the total price of the trip
Less than 21 days before the start of the trip 100% of the total price of the trip
  8. Modifications or cancellations of trips or itineraries by us

We reserve the right to modify or cancel a trip, provided that there are obvious reasons to do so, which would be communicated immediately to the customers concerned.

With regard to modifications, efforts will be made to replace the activity or service with one of the same or higher category wherever possible. In the event that this is not possible, our company will make the corresponding financial refund to customers. We also reserve the right to modify the routes if there are reasons of force majeure, such as bad weather forecasts or adverse conditions that make the activity risky or dangerous. In any case, the modification of any route or even its non-implementation will not imply any financial compensation on our part.

In both guided and self-guided tours, our liability for the cancellation of any of our tours at any time will be limited to a full refund of the amounts previously paid by customers, including initial deposits.

  9. Modification of prices

All prices for our trips and services are in euros and must be paid in that currency.

The amounts advertised in our brochures and on our website are accurate at the date of publication, but we reserve the right to change any of these prices, either increasing or reducing them, provided there are reasonable grounds for doing so, such as changing the costs of outsourced services. In any case, before confirming your reservation, we will inform you of any change in price of the trip you have chosen.

  10. Your journey here

All our trips take place in the north of Spain and, in general, have their starting point in the city of San Sebastian. Depending on your place of residence, you will have to use the different means of transport to get here, the cost of which is not included in our prices and therefore has to be purchased and paid for by the client personally.

We do not sell any kind of ticket for transport, nor do we make the appropriate reservations, but we can advise you on the most suitable arrangements for your trip and help you to make your purchase and organize your trip. In any case, we do not accept any kind of responsibility for any circumstances that may occur in the contracting and/or use of these means of transport.

  11. Limitation of liability

Our liability shall be limited by obvious negligence in the performance of our professional activity, but never by acts you may perform, whether intentional or unintentional. In any case, our liability is limited to the total or partial refund of the amount you have paid for your trip. We make every effort to ensure that the information on our website and in our brochures is as accurate and complete as possible, but we cannot be held responsible to you for any changes that occur after they have been published and distributed. The images and comments shown in our media do not imply anything fixed that obliges us contractually with you.

  12. Physical Fitness

Although our routes can be done by anyone who is used to walking in nature and in the mountains, adequate physical condition is required. As the person responsible for your trip, you must ensure that all members of your group have the appropriate capacity to carry out the contracted activity. We reserve the right to refuse the participation of any person if, in the opinion of our guide or person responsible for the activity, it is evident that such person does not have the minimum physical condition necessary to perform the activity and thereby jeopardizes its execution or the enjoyment and safety of the other participants.

  13. Health

For your own safety and that of your fellow travelers, you should notify us in advance of any physical limitations or illnesses that may be present in the different members of your group, especially those that have a direct influence on the possibility of walking routes. You should also let us know if anyone in your group has any allergy.

  14. Age requirements

We accept the participation of children and young people on our trips, but those under 18 years of age must always be accompanied by an adult.

  15. Dietary requirements

If you let us know in advance, we will try to take your dietary requirements or dietary limitations into account when ordering and arranging the different meals for the day. Please indicate this in writing when making your reservation.

  16. Complaints

During a trip and if the complaint is about service or accommodation, we suggest that you first talk to the appropriate provider to try to resolve the problem as soon as possible.

If the problem is still not resolved, please inform your guide or, if it is a self-guided trip, please contact us immediately to try to resolve the situation.

If you have already returned to your place of origin and wish to complain for any reason, you must send us a written message, either by post or e-mail, within 4 weeks of the end of your holiday with us, we can assume no responsibility after that period of time. Once we have received your complaint in writing, we will investigate and give you an answer within a few days.

  17. Privacy and data protection policy

For your peace of mind and security, we do not store any credit card information. We comply with all the requirements related to Organic Law 15/1999, of December 13, 1999, about the Protection of Personal Data. You can consult our Privacy and Data Protection Policy by clicking here.

  18. Jurisdiction and Applicable Law
For legal purposes, the contract between you and Walking North Spain is made in Spain, so any dispute or claim arising in connection with your holiday with us will be dealt with under Spanish law and in a Spanish court. Therefore, you agree that the courts of Spain shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any possible dispute or claim and shall apply Spanish law at all times.
